Inkline

Privacy Policy

Inkline is built for local files, not data collection.

Inkline is a local native macOS editor for large structured data files, code, developer tools, Git review, and terminal workflows. Inkline does not operate a backend service for collecting, analyzing, selling, or sharing user data.

Policy version: 1.0 Effective date: July 8, 2026

Data Collection

Inkline does not collect personal data, usage data, analytics, telemetry, advertising identifiers, tracking data, or crash analytics from the app.

Inkline does not sell data, share data with data brokers, or use data for advertising or tracking.

Files, Projects, and Editor Data

Inkline works with files, folders, projects, structured data, terminal output, Git state, and developer-tool input that you choose to open or create locally.

Inkline does not upload your source code, JSON, logs, structured data, terminal output, Git diffs, file paths, project names, editor content, or developer-tool input to any Inkline server.

Large structured files, JSON, logs, source files, generated output, and formatted data stay on your Mac unless you choose to save, copy, export, upload, or share them using another tool.

Local File Access and macOS Permissions

Inkline may use local macOS permissions to access folders or files that you select. If Inkline needs continued access to user-selected local files or folders, it may store macOS security-scoped bookmark data locally.

Security-scoped bookmarks are local macOS permission records used to reopen files or folders you selected. They are not uploaded to Inkline or any third party.

Credentials and Keychain

When Inkline needs to retain local connection-related secrets or credentials, it uses the macOS Keychain where appropriate. Keychain data remains on your device and is managed by macOS.

Inkline does not upload credentials, access tokens, local environment values, key material, or Keychain items to any Inkline server.

Data Stored Locally

Inkline may store local data needed to provide the app's functionality, such as app preferences, window or layout preferences, recently opened file references, workspace state, editor state, security-scoped bookmarks, and locally saved settings.

This data remains on your device. It is not transmitted to Inkline, collected by Inkline, sold, shared, used for analytics, or used for tracking.

If you choose to save files, export content, copy data, run local commands, or share output with another tool or person, that happens only at your direction. You control whether and how those files or outputs are shared.

Third Parties

Inkline does not include third-party analytics, advertising, tracking, or telemetry SDKs.

Inkline may communicate with third-party or self-hosted services only when you configure those services yourself as part of your own local development workflow.

Changes
